Job description: Short term National expert to conduct an assignment related to TVET Workshops layout and management of equipment in Rulindo District
Rwanda Polytechnics has signed a financial agreement with the French Development Agency (AFD), for the implementation of a pilot project in the district of Rulindo. Expertise France, the French Agency for international technical expertise, has been asked to support the implementation of the project during the first 3 years.
To do so, Expertise France is currently recruiting a short-term national expert in TVET workshop layout and management of equipment to conduct an assignment related to support 4 TVET schools in Rulindo District to ensure proper workshop arrangement, storage and maintenance of equipment and tools to enable safe and comfortable learning environment.
The assignment will cover 20 working days in a period of March 2023 to June 2023

Tasks
• Collaborate with workshop trainers to put in place a procedure for the arrangement, storage and maintenance in each workshop
• Identify and design the special storage requirements for each of the types of items.
• Organize study visit of school managers and trainers for benchmarking purposes with 3 identified TVET schools
• An updated inventory list of workshop items purchased through AFTER project
• Collaborate with workshop trainers to arrange equipment and tools to enable easy movement of the users to get tools or stock without disrupting others work
• Coordinate the making and fixation of different item for storage purposes
• Ensure safety and easy access of material in the storage of the tools and that they are not stored over each other.
• Ensure convenient storage to minimize the effort needed to handle and control materials
• Provide written report using the Project’s template and send it for validation to the Vocational training and Capacity building expert

Required experience and competencies
• At least an advance degree in engineering
• Having a minimum of 5 years proven experience in performing similar assignment
• Having an experience of organising workshops for different TVET institutions
• Proficiency in English – written and speaking
