Overview:

Overall Objective Of The Consultancy
The main objective of this consultancy is to improve Access to SRH services and information for persons with disability by training healthcare provider on disability inclusion

Specific Objectives
• Strengthen sexual and reproductive health (SRH) in service delivery for persons with disability.
• Improving the capacity of healthcare providers on disability inclusion
• Identify available opportunities to make SRH services more inclusive and accessible to people with disability in Rwanda.

Key Tasks
The scope of the consultancy service shall include:
• Development of training materials: The consultant should develop training materials, such as lesson plans, handouts, and presentations, that can be used to teach disability inclusion to the learners. These materials should be clear, concise, and effective in conveying the key concepts and skills of disability inclusion.
• Training delivery: The consultant should deliver training sessions to the learners. These sessions should be engaging, interactive, and tailored to the needs of the learners.
• Evaluation: The consultant should conduct evaluations to measure the effectiveness of the training program. This may involve pre- and post-training assessments, feedback surveys, and focus group discussions.
• Capacity building: The consultant should build the capacity of participants to implement disability inclusion practices. This may involve providing guidance on policy development, promoting the use of accessible technology, and providing advice on how to create an inclusive work environment.
• Reporting: The consultant should provide a report after the completion of the activity detailing the activities undertaken, the progress made, and any challenges encountered.
• The trainer will provide a sample of similar work he or she accomplished in the past.

Supervision, Reporting, and Deliverables

• The consultant will be directly supervised by and will report to the Senior Program Officer of Gender and Inclusion
The following deliverables are expected from the consultant:
• Training materials: The consultant should provide training materials, such as handouts, presentations, and other resources, that can be used to teach disability inclusion. These materials should be clear, concise, and effective in conveying the key concepts and skills of disability inclusion.
• Recommendations and action plan: The consultant should provide recommendations and an action plan to improve disability inclusion efforts. This could include changes to policies and procedures, new training programs, or other initiatives to promote disability inclusion.
• Documentation: The consultant should provide documentation of the training program, including a summary of the training materials, feedback from participants, and evaluation results. This documentation can be used to demonstrate the impact of the training program and to inform future efforts.
Duration of the task:
This short-term consultancy work will commence upon contract signing and end upon submission of required deliverables.

Qualifications and experience:

Disability inclusion requires high technical/professional expertise and proven experience. Therefore, the consultant interested in this assignment is required to have the following qualifications:
1. Expertise in disability inclusion: The consultant should have a deep understanding of disability inclusion and the challenges faced by people with disabilities. He/she should be knowledgeable about relevant laws, policies, and best practices related to disability inclusion.
2. Experience in training and facilitation: The consultant should have experience in developing and delivering training programs, as well as facilitating discussions and group activities. He/she should be able to engage learners and create a supportive learning environment.
3. Knowledge of diverse learning needs: The consultant should be able to develop training materials and delivery methods that meet the diverse learning needs of the participants. This includes taking into account factors such as language, culture, and disability status.
4. Communication and interpersonal skills: The consultant should have strong communication and interpersonal skills, including the ability to listen actively, provide constructive feedback, and collaborate effectively with participants.
5. Qualifications in related fields: The consultant may have qualifications in related fields such as disability studies, social sciences, law, gender, or other relevant fields. These qualifications can provide a foundation for their work in disability inclusion.
6. Having previous experience of training health facilities and district hospitals staff on similar subjects will be an added advantage.

• A detailed quotation for the consultancy showing all necessary costs. Bids shall be provided in Rwandan francs, including applicable taxes, and shall be valid for at least 90 days after submission.
