What we do with the BioNTainers:
We want to improve healthcare by making our innovations accessible worldwide. Therefore, we developed the first modular mRNA-manufacturing facilities based on a container solution called “BioNTainers”. The aim is to build a regional manufacturing network in Africa, with Africa, for Africa.

Why we need you:
The BioNTainers will be equipped to produce a range of mRNA-based vaccines targeted toward the needs of African Union member states. You will become part of the regional staffing team, driving the establishment of the regional African end-to-end mRNA manufacturing network.

Role Purpose:
The Finance Controller is responsible for a smoothly running Procure-to-Pay process at the Rwanda site. This includes ensuring that purchase orders are placed properly and also approved promptly and that our suppliers are paid as agreed. The Specialist is also the interface to central accounting and Treasury to ensure that the accounting records and payment transactions are accurate.

Tasks:
• Close cooperation with global Finance functions to set up a local Procure-to-Pay process
• Ensure that all initial orders and payments are managed properly and compliant
• Close cooperation for initial cost tracking to ensure an always up-to-date financial business case calculation
• Project support (e.g. asset accounting, SAP, etc.)
• Setup of proper e-banking processes to be compliant and transparent with respect to payment transactions
• Ensures a properly run Procure-to-Pay process
• Responsible for managing the local accounting records for fixed assets
• Reviews clearing accounts and open aged items and derives corresponding actions
• The interface between central accounting and the local Rwanda site
• Supports monthly, quarterly, and year-end closings
• Project support (e.g. asset accounting, SAP etc.)
• Provide liquidity planning and financial status reporting

Qualifications
Education:
Accounting degree.
Professional Certificates: CPA or ACCA or CIMA

Professional experience:
5+ years including Tax law (business essential), budget deviations, asset account register, deprivation, P&L. Cost tracking & reporting (HQ).

Languages:
• Fluent written and verbal English
Competencies:
• Very high process comprehension
• Good SAP skills
• High degree of conscientiousness and diligence
• Pronounced team & communication skills
• Tax law experience
• Knowledge related to SOX (Sarbanes-Oxley-Act) / internal control systems
• Familiar with payment processes and cash flow planning
• Trustworthy & dependable (making payments on behalf of the organization)
• All rounder
