Background
Zenysis is a global technology company on a mission to transform how governments and international organizations respond to the world’s most urgent health challenges. Our advanced integration and analytics software helps decision-makers deliver lifesaving programs, track emerging threats, and coordinate large-scale emergency responses.
Governments in Africa and Asia rely on Zenysis to help deliver healthcare outcomes to millions, monitor pandemics, and strengthen national systems. We are proud to be backed by leading partners including the Global Fund, Gavi, and the Gates Foundation.
We are a diverse team of technologists, public health experts, and development professionals. At Zenysis, diversity, equity, and inclusion are not just values—they define how we work. We also prioritize healthy work-life balance and long-term sustainability in everything we do.
The role
We are seeking a part-time Accounts & Admin Officer to support the operations of our Rwanda country office. This role will work closely with our small Rwanda team (8 staff) and be supported by Zenysis’ international finance, HR, and operations team. This is a hybrid role, offering flexibility to work remotely or in our Rwandan office.
The officer will play a key role in ensuring smooth day-to-day operations in Rwanda by managing payroll and statutory filings, handling vendor payments, providing administrative support, and acting as the local point of contact with banks, vendors, and government offices.
This is an exciting opportunity for a detail-oriented professional who wants to contribute to impactful health programs, while balancing part-time work with other commitments.
Success in this role is measured by accurate reporting, compliance with client and Zenysis policies, and efficient administrative support. By managing resources responsibly, the position enables delivery teams to focus on delivering high-quality program results.
Qualifications
- 3–5 years of experience in accounting, financial management, or administration.
- Prior experience supporting international donor-funded projects is preferred.
- Hands-on experience with payroll, statutory filings, and bank reconciliations.
- Familiarity with procurement and vendor management in compliance-driven environments.
- Strong proficiency with accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Sage) and advanced Excel skills (QuickBooks Pro Advisor a plus).
- Detail-oriented, organized, and able to manage sensitive financial and HR information confidentially.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills for working with staff, vendors, and government counterparts.
- Experience working remotely with an international team is a plus.
- Fluency in English required.
Education
- Minimum of an Associate's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (Bachelor’s degree)
- Payroll certification (e.g., FPC/CPP) a plus.
- Progress toward CPA/ACCA or equivalent certification is an advantage.
Additional Information
- This is a part-time position (~10 hours per week).
- Available to work during core business hours (9am-6pm)
- The role is primarily focused on light-touch local compliance and coordination, supported by Zenysis’s international operations team.
- Clear credit checks, and police clearance certificates as part of pre-employment screening, if hired.
Why Join Zenysis?
- Work at the intersection of technology and public health to drive real impact
- Join a mission-driven, inclusive team that values diversity and balance
- Contribute to projects that directly improve healthcare outcomes for millions
- Maintain accurate financial records, process payments, and prepare monthly financial reports.
- Conduct monthly balance sheet reconciliations and ensure timely payments to tax and pension authorities.
- Oversee payroll administration for Zenysis staff and seconded staff at the Ministry of Health (MOH).
- Support procurement processes, including vendor sourcing, quotations, and purchase documentation in line with organizational and donor regulations.
- Ensure all financial and procurement activities comply with Zenysis policies and donor requirements.
- Provide logistical support for program activities, including preparing invitation letters, managing participant payments, and coordinating with the delivery team.
- Support travel arrangements, workshops, and other events as needed.
- Support timekeeping management for Zenysis staff and MOH seconded staff, ensuring accuracy and timely submission of records.
- Assist with maintaining HR files, leave tracking, and compliance with local labor requirements.
- Oversee day-to-day office operations and provide administrative support to ensure smooth project delivery.
- Liaise with banks, vendors, and government offices as needed.
- Support with annual company compliance requirements for registration, tax payments, etc.
- Strong proficiency with accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Sage) and advanced Excel skills (QuickBooks Pro Advisor a plus).
