Reporting to: Regional Procurement Specialist

Purpose

The Finance/Accounting Intern support implementation of NBI Finance policy, Strategy and related actions geared at operationalization of the organization’s Finance plans.

Duties & Responsibilities

The position will ensure the following duties, and key result areas are performed.

• File source documents and journal vouchers which should be properly kept in order to provide evidence for the occurrence of financial transaction ,
  
• Prepare and maintain the physical assets inventory and update a fixed asset register
  
• Assist in Bank Reconciliation preparations (help review and check Bank Statements, Electronic Bank Transfer)
  
• Prepare, file and follow up with VAT Claims
  
• Prepare Internal memo for payment
  
• Assist on preparation of monthly bank account reconciliation reports
  
• Processing payments and ensure timely delivery of cheques to bona fide beneficiaries
  
• Any other duties as may be assigned by the supervisor from time to time Finances are
  

Qualifications, knowledge, skills and years of experience required

• Possession of at least Bachelor’s degree (at least Lower Second class) in Finance, Accounting Bachelor of Commerce or Bachelor of Business Administration, from a recognised University. For those who are yet to graduate, proof of statement of results up to final year is required;
  
• Possession of professional accountancy certificate (CPA/ACCA) is an added advantage;
  
• Knowledge in accounting softwares (QuickBooks, Tally, sage pastel, Sage line 100);
  
• Also, skills in audit and tax is an added advantage;
  
• Good interpersonal and communication skills and ability to involve key stakeholders;
  
• Ability to maintain concentration on work subject to frequent interruptions;
  
• Ability to work in a multi-task and multi-deadline environment;
  
• Ability to set goals towards meeting set deadlines;
  
• Fluency in English with working knowledge of French;
  
• Excellent writing, analytical, presentation, and reporting skills; and
  
• Demonstrated Computer Proficiency.
