Job Responsibilities:
• Save the Children is seeking an Inclusive Education Officer for the USAID-funded Mureke Dusome project which aims to support the Rwandan Education Board to create and roll-out a school-community partnership model to complement the improved reading and writing instruction delivered in schools.
• The Inclusive Education Officer will be accountable for the oversight of the implementation of disability inclusion activities under the fourth result area of Mureke Dusome: “Promote equity in literacy work, with a focus on gender empowerment and the inclusion of children with disabilities”. The Inclusive Education Officer will be responsible for liaising with a local partner organization specialized in disability inclusion to plan, monitor and report on activities as per the Mureke Dusome work plan on result area four.

Job Qualifications:
University degree in Education, Social Sciences or related fields.
• 2-5 years of relevant area work experience or equivalent;
• Strong demonstrable skills and experience in planning, monitoring, evaluation, learning, and accountability;
• Proven experience in disability inclusion programming and accessibility adaptations;
• Strong understanding of the global, regional and national framework related to persons with disability especially children and youth;
• Strong understanding of civil society and a rights-based approach to development and partnerships;
• Experience of organizational capacity building and partner support;
• Problem-solving and decision-making skills;
• High-level report writing skills in English;
• Good understanding of the situation of children’ rights and disability in Rwanda;
• Desirable experience working with the Washington Group Short Set and Child Functioning Module
