JOB DETAILS:

RWANDA ELDERS ADVISORY FORUM.

Job Responsibilities:
¬-Conduct economic research
- Carry out needs assessment on economic issues
- Conduct pre research and recommend areas that require advice
- Carry out economic research and analysis in identified markets and communicate results to the Chairperson to assist in effective policy development and decision making;
- Draft working papers or briefings notes to the Council of Elders on policy issues
- Design, execute and follow up high
- level research studies pertaining to the macro
- economic sector, trade, customs, and economic development; productive and infrastructure sectors in response to elders
- Develop research methodologies and tools such as questionnaires, sampling and data analysis activities, for own use;
- Request the administrative and logistical arrangements pertaining to the research assignments, as to ensure that the assignments run smoothly;
- Prepare draft reports on research conducted.
- Prepare final reports with recommendations/advice on research conducted following guidance of Elders 2. Analyze and review economic policies, related documents and Government programs
- Review economy documents related to the concerned issue
- Review and analyse economic data to prepare reports detailing results of performed research
- Make regular consultation of economy documents/reports and other publications; 3. Maintain an awareness on trends of national and local ecomies
- Identify economic indicators in respect to trends of the national and local economies
- Maintain and develop a comprehensive and upto date knowledge of economic developments in the sector to ensure that any analysis carried out is based on the best and most upto date information
- Respond to enquiries from council of elders and relevant external bodies relating to economic developments;
- Produce regular publications and use a variety of communications to ensure that council of elders and staff are kept up to date with the economic developments relevant to their jobs;
- Develop and maintain contacts with external sources to ensure that the best possible information is gained and to provide effective advice to council of elders;
- Attend official conferences, seminars, trainings and research publications related to economic and financial issues;
- Prepare and submit reports to elders
- Update elders council on economy updated information’s

Job Qualifications:
A0 in Econometrics, Economics, Applied Microeconomics, Macroeconomics, Public Finance, Finance and Economics Business administration option Economics, Master's Degree in Econometrics, Economics, Applied Microeconomics, Macroeconomics, Public Finance, Finance and Economics and Business administration option Economics Experience
Working experience of 3 years for Bachelor’s degree holders, or 1 year working experience in the aforementioned fields for Master’s degree holders.
• Experience of working independently and without close supervision.
• Experience in dealing with a diversity of stakeholders both in public sector and/ or private sector
• Experience in working with senior people
• Experience of working in institutions with similar or related tasks and mandate as of REAF is an added advantage Competencies
