The Development Bank of Rwanda is Rwanda’s only National Development Bank mandated to support Rwanda’s development goals. To help accomplish this ambitious and exciting vision, the Development Bank of Rwanda (BRD) would like to recruit suitable qualified staff to fill the following position:
Senior Manager Investments
Job Level: Job Grade 4 .

Duties and Responsibilities
• Lead the investments’ departments’ daily activities for market and product opportunity identification and assessment;
• Develop a competitive investment strategy and an internal investment policy that seeks to leverage fully on the sectors that BRD is keen to operate in;
• Identify and develop a robust business pipeline for the Bank;
• Liaise with the Risk Management and Compliance department to formulate strategies and guidelines to ensure good quality lending portfolio and equity investments;
• Develop and implement the internal governance structure and processes including cross functional committees to ensure transparency, effective communication, and adherence to good decision-making principles in the investment process;
• Examine current business processes and make necessary changes to put in place the best practices, comply with policies and regulations, also considering BRD’s broad organizational goals and growth objectives;
• Develop long-term relationships with external stakeholders;
• Manage and monitor the implementation of on-going projects to ensure implementation is in accordance with policy, contract and design;
• Review and approve requests for loan disbursements and subsequently monitor to ensure their compliance with contractual obligation;
• Conducting investments’ departments’ staff development and performance contract and valuation;
• Carry on any other assignment delegated by the Chief Operations Officer;

• Strong project management skills;
• Strong executive functioning;
• Strong organizational skills with excellent attention to details;
• Demonstrated capacity at high level strategic thinking;
• Relevant professional qualification;
• Proven ability to handle confidential information with discretion;
• Credit analysis experience;
• Excellent, executive-level spoken/written English;
• Microsoft skills in Excel, Word, PowerPoint and other Microsoft Office Suite products;


Job requirements
• Master’s Degree in a relevant field;
• A minimum of ten (10) years of relevant experience in Banking and preferably in a Development Financial Institution (DFI), Five (5) of which must be at a management level;
