JOB DETAILS:
Job description
In order to effectively accomplish its business objectives and to support the growing of its ICT portfolio business, the company is now looking for qualified candidates with at least 5 (five) years of experience in information security area. This position may include overtime, sometimes working during weekends and holidays if needed.
Job responsibilities
The System Engineer specialized in information security is responsible for implementation/operation/maintenance/support/troubleshooting of information security related system and equipment covering both hardware and software during and after projects.
His/her duties also include collaboration with different subcontractors and partners involved in the implementation of different ICT projects.
The Engineer will have the following responsibilities:

  • Finds and develops new business opportunities for ICT projects
  • Performs site survey, collects requirements during and after the development/initiation of new projects, and prepares the bill of quantities
  • Manages and sets up new hardware and software by following ICT policies and procedures
  • Supervises project works, ensuring that testing and inspection of deliverables/equipment are performed as per accepted standards and meet the agreed specifications
  • Creates and maintains technical documentation such as: issue logs, lessons learned, and etc. for different projects
  • Supports and provides guidance to subcontractor’s team as well as less experienced engineers during and after the implementation of assigned projects
  • Provides update on project progress and notifies any impending changes; escalates issues that cannot be solved at the ground level to his/her line manager
  • Performs routine maintenance to supplied ICT equipment or solution as well as emergency support when required
  • Works with foreign companies and Rwanda government institutions for solution development and provide support to solutions implemented by AOS
  • Any other duties that may be assigned by the supervisor
    Job requirements
    The successful candidate will possess the following skill sets:
  • At least five years of experience in the implementation, operation, and maintenance of ICT projects
  • Troubleshooting ability in network security and server system matters by finding the root cause
  • Strong computer skills with experience in IBM servers, Unix / Linux operating system and backup solutions will be regarded as an advantage
  • In-depth understanding of technology-based services such as data center management facilities, and IP networking
  • Proven experience of working in a high-pressured corporate environment
  • Excellent interpersonal and leadership skills, good communication ability in written and oral
  • A person of proven integrity, highly motivated, innovative and a team player
    Education/ Experience
  • Degree in Computer/Electronics/Electrical Engineering or related field; OR
  • 2-year diploma in the above areas and minimum seven years of work experience in the related field of the diploma
  • Experience in the implementation and supporting IBM hardware and software (Including IBM servers and storage system, IBM UNIX operating system) and Redhat Linux enterprise is regarded as an added advantage
  • Experience in the implementation and supporting of Penta security and configuration Ahnlab TrusGuard equipment will be regarded as high added advantage
  • Work experience with international companies is preferred
    Certifications (Added Advantage)
  • Certificates or trainings for IBM UNIX and Redhat linux enterprise.
  • Certificates or trainings for Information Communication Technology system and Security equipment (Firewall/Web Firewall/DDoS prevention equipment)
  • Certificates or trainings for Backup system (Netbackup/Tivoli).
  • Preferred: Project Management Institute’s Project Management Professional (PMP)
    Employment
    This is a fulltime position, and subject to the annual performance evaluation of the staff. AoS offers a comprehensive benefit package, which includes an attractive pension plan, as well as life medical and dental insurance among others. However, a probation period may be assigned before signing a work contract in accordance with AoS HR policy.
