Role Profile
Position: Technical Director
Location: Kigali
Position Overview
• To ensure proper diagnosis and quality repair of vehicles as per customers’ requirements.
• To ensure customer satisfaction through conducting comprehensive checks on all diagnostic jobs prior to delivery
• Support all other technical staff through mandatory on the job training
• Create a work flow schedule that will be adhered to by all technical staff .

Key Responsibilities:
• Accurate identification of vehicle faults, parts that need replacement and proper fitment of vehicle parts
• Be responsible for the timely deliverance of Workshop Reports to the Managing director.
• Self-study and participation in available training & development programs.
• Timely communication of vehicle defects to quality control supervisor
• Proper management of all technical tools & equipment allocated to avoid accidents and wastage.
• Carefully handling customer vehicles to avoid damages and losses.
• Build and maintain strong working relations with staff and customers
• Ensure adherence to the Standard operating procedures (SOP’s) in the workshop at all times.
• Maintain and control technical staff discipline in the workshop at all times.
• Identify, make proposals for training requirements for technicians and roll the training programs
• Monitor Workshop environmental and safety standards
• Ensure customer confidence through clean and orderly service operation and ensure the facility standards are maintained
• Undertake Warranty and Technical Reports and liaise with the service administration supervisor for onward reporting
• Manage own performance through active identification of training needs
• Recommend changes to service department to improve on quality delivery
• Supervise the activities of the service technicians to ensure efficient job performance and timely repairs
• Ensure service staffs comply with all environmental laws and regulations.
• Recommend the procurement of equipment and various other items required in the service department
• Ensure full utilization of workshop available labor and resources to achieve planned operational targets
• Assist the service advisors and technicians in accurate & timely troubleshooting & diagnosis of complicated vehicle defects.
• Gives practical assistance, on-the-job training and technical advice to technicians
• Evaluate the performance of technical staff in order to acknowledge efficient employees and guide underperforming ones
• Ensure achievement of total technical key performance indicators against planned budgets.
• Attend workshops and study relevant publications to stay up-to-date with developments in the automotive service industry

• Understanding of body work, paint job and vehicle aesthetics.

Basic Experience & Education:
• A Certificate in Electrical and Automotive Engineering
• Minimum 10 years’ experience in automotive repairs
• Mechanical Engineering experience.
• Working within a multinational organization with fast paced requirements.
• Business acumen/commercial knowledge
Languages:
• English
• Kiswahili
• Kinyarwanda
