Enumerator
Introduction
Cordaid is a global, non-governmental development organization, whose mission is to end poverty and injustice. Cordaid works in the fields of climate resilience, food and income, private sector development. Cordaid’s projects aim to strengthen households to generate more income from farming. Farmers are supported to increase the production of quality food to meet subsistence needs. Across Rwanda, Cordaid works with both the government and companies to give business owners access to microfinance, further develop the private sector and improve food security.

Purpose and scope of the assignment
In order to provide the basis that inform the technical assistance of a project in implementation, Cordaid is initiating a needs assessment covering Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs), entrepreneurs, cooperatives, business development advisors (BDAs), and participating financing institutions (PFIs) located in urban areas including Nyarugenge, Gasabo, Kicukiro, Huye and Bugesera districts.
It is in this regards that Cordaid is seeking to hire experienced enumerators to support collecting both qualitative and quantitative data for the needs assessment.

Duties and Responsibilities of the enumerator:
• Attend the training session, study the Questionnaire and manual carefully and understand them thoroughly. If any part of instruction is not clear, ask your trainer for clarification.
• Conduct focus group and individual interviews with different assigned respondents.
• Maintaining confidentiality when collecting data.
• Ensure the quality of work by taking notes of all responses given by the respondents and arranging them in a meaningful and presentable manner.
• Recording data from surveys or questionnaires on paper forms or computer tablets for statistical analysis.
• Explaining assessment objectives and procedures to the respondents to ensure that they understand the process.
• Ensure effective communication and Report timely.
• Carry out all functions and duties as are assigned.
• Obey and comply with all lawful and reasonable instructions given by the Employer.
• Be true and faithful to the Employer in all dealings and transactions relating to the business and interests of the Employer, and to endeavor to protect and promote the business, reputation and goodwill of the Employer at all times.
• Devote the whole of your time and attention during the Employer’s working hours and additional time as may be required by the Employer during the data collection period. General qualifications
• University degree.
• Proven experience in qualitative and quantitative data collection
• Proven experience in collection data using Kobo tool box
• Excellent written, oral and interpersonal communication skills in Kinyarwanda;
• Previously collected data for NGOs
• Ability to work independently as well as in a multi‐cultural team;
• Willingness to cooperate with project team members to facilitate their duties;
• Willingness to work beyond normal working hours
