Job description

Car Inspection
• Inspect car for safe operating condition before, during and after trips
• Ensure the good condition of vehicle and report to the direct supervisor at the end of every week
• Planning
• Plan route and requirements by studying schedule or ad-hoc requests by supervisor
• Transport RCA’Staff in their daily activities, packages to and from destination
• Provide traffic information from time to time regarding the restrictions by the Law and all relevant documentation
• Work during day-off when needed
• Fulfill all administrative needs
• Perform other duties as maybe assigned by the supervisor
• Maintenance
• Arrange for vehicle care and maintenance
• Ensure vehicle’s maintenance
• Ensure that vehicle is always fueled and ready for use
• Ensure the good condition of vehicle
• Confidentiality
• Maintain passenger confidence by keeping information strictly confidential

Minimum Qualifications
• Driving license Category B
5 Years of relevant experience

Reports To: Human Resource Officer

Job Summary
As a key member of Rusumo Power Company Limited (RPCL), the drivers will report directly to the Assistant Human Resource Officer and work closely with the support staff of RPCL

Responsibilities and Duties
• Transport RPCL Staff and/or packages to and from destinations
• Fulfill administrative needs, like office pickups
• Research and plan for traffic, construction, and weather delays
• Use navigation applications to determine the best route
• Always interact with staff professionally
• Keep motor vehicle in good running condition and ready for use
• Arrange for vehicle repairs as needed
• Keep mileage records and repair records up to date
• Time management and organizational skills to keep track of deliveries and stay on schedule.

Qualifications and Experience Requirements
• A valid driving license Rwanda (B and D), Burundi (B and D1) and Tanzania (B, and D).
• At least five years of demonstrated experience performed at public institution, NGOs and/or private company.
• At least ordinary level certificate of secondary education
• Certificate of Executive Driving Course or specialized training
• Excellent navigation skills and proficiency in using navigation applications to find delivery locations
• Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to drive on the left side and on the right side safely
• Motor vehicle mechanical maintenance knowledge is an added advantage
• Recommendation letter of good conduct from previous or current employer
• Criminal record certificate
