Our Finance Department plays a vital role in supporting the school’s operations, and we are looking for a diligent, detail-oriented Accounts Assistant to join our team.
The Role
Reporting to the Finance Manager, the Accounts Assistant will provide day-to-day financial and administrative support across the school’s accounts function. This is a hands-on, accuracy-driven role suited to a candidate who is organised, trustworthy, and comfortable working with numbers in a busy international school environment. Proficiency in both French and English is an added advantage given the multilingual nature of our school community.

Required Qualifications
- Diploma or degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a closely related field
- Demonstrated experience in an accounts assistant, bookkeeping, or finance administrative role
- Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel
- High level of numerical accuracy and strong attention to detail
- Excellent organisational and time-management skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines
- Strong professional integrity and ability to handle confidential financial information with discretion
- Good written and verbal communication skills in English
Preferred Qualifications
- Proficiency in French (spoken and written) — a significant added advantage in our multilingual school community
- Experience working in a school, NGO, or international organisation finance function
- Familiarity with school fee management systems or student information systems
- Experience supporting payroll processing or working with HR and finance systems

- Process and issue invoices for school fees, trips, and other charges accurately and on time
- Manage accounts payable and receivable, including tracking outstanding payments and following up with families and suppliers
- Perform regular bank reconciliations and maintain accurate financial records in the school’s accounting system
- Assist the Finance Manager with monthly and termly budget reports and financial summaries
- Support payroll processing by collecting and verifying timesheets and relevant documentation
- Manage petty cash, process expense claims, and maintain clear supporting documentation
- Liaise with suppliers, vendors, and service providers for procurement and payment queries
- Maintain organised, up-to-date filing systems for all financial documents, both digital and physical
- Assist with internal and external audit preparation, providing accurate records and documentation as required
- Respond to finance-related queries from parents, staff, and external parties in a professional and timely manner
- Support the Finance Manager with ad hoc financial and administrative tasks as needed
- Proficiency in accounting software
