The Associate Warehouse Operator plays a critical role in ensuring efficient, safe, and compliant warehouse and logistics operations. The position supports core warehouse activities including material handling, operation of forklifts and other material handling equipment, and accurate movement, storage, and dispatch of materials across inbound, internal, and outbound logistics processes. The role ensures adherence to standard operating procedures (SOPs), safety regulations, and quality standards.

Responsibilities or duties

  • Perform material handling activities including unloading inbound shipments, receiving and storing goods, picking orders, transferring materials internally, and loading outbound shipments in accordance with established SOPs and work instructions.
  • Operate material handling equipment such as forklifts, manual pallet jacks, ride-on pallet stackers, and reach trucks in compliance with safety regulations and logistics protocols.
  • Inspect all incoming and outgoing materials for damage, discrepancies, or defects and promptly report any issues to the supervisor.
  • Package, label, and prepare products for shipment or storage using approved procedures and tools.
  • Support inventory management activities including tagging, labeling, stock organization, and participation in cycle counts and stock audits.
  • Accurately fulfill system-generated orders and position inventory in designated storage areas as directed by the Warehouse Management System (WMS).
  • Conduct pre-operation inspections of equipment and maintain detailed logbooks for operational and maintenance records.
  • Keep warehouse equipment clean, monitor operational status, and report maintenance or repair requirements.
  • Ensure proper documentation handling and accurate transfer of materials and records to designated locations.
  • Continuously develop knowledge in material handling processes, storage procedures, safety standards, and GMP compliance through training and practical experience.
  • Maintain housekeeping standards and ensure a safe working environment at all times.

Qualifications or requirements

  • Advanced Diploma (A1) in Logistics, Operations Management, Mechanical Engineering, Health Sciences, or related field.
  • Valid Driving License – Class F (mandatory).
  • Valid Forklift Operation Certification (mandatory).
  • Safety Training Certification (preferred).
  • Must be 18 years of age or older.
  • Proficiency in written and spoken English.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • High level of attention to detail with a strong safety-first mindset.
  • Knowledge and application of SOPs, housekeeping standards, and safety protocols.
  • Reliable attendance and punctuality.
  • Physically capable of lifting up to 25 kg.
  • Good physical health to perform tasks including standing, walking, bending, and operating equipment for up to 8 hours per shift (subject to pre-employment medical clearance).
  • Ability to work in fast-paced environments and varying temperature conditions.
  • Flexibility to work overtime, weekends, or rotating shifts as required.
  • Team-oriented with strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Demonstrated commitment to continuous learning and adherence to company policies and values.

Experience needed

  • Minimum of 1 year of experience operating forklifts in a large-scale warehouse, distribution, or manufacturing environment.
  • Experience working in a fast-paced warehouse or logistics setting.
  • Certified forklift training from a recognized institution.
  • Experience operating battery-powered lifting equipment is highly desirable.
  • Ability to conduct equipment inspections and perform basic maintenance checks.
  • Experience loading/unloading trailers and handling palletized inventory.
  • Familiarity with Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) or logistics management information systems.
