Job Description
Ntare Louisenlund School is seeking an English Language and Literature Teacher to teach within the IB Middle Years Programme in Bugesera, Rwanda. The role involves designing and delivering engaging, inquiry-based, cooperative, and project-based learning experiences for students.
The teacher will develop unit plans, learning tasks, and educational resources; manage classrooms; maintain attendance records; support students through differentiated learning and mentoring; facilitate self-directed learning sessions; assess student work; and report on student progress to students, mentors, and parents.
The teacher will also mentor up to ten students annually, participate in professional development, contribute to the development of the school's 21st-century pedagogy, and perform other duties related to effective teaching and learning.
Job Requirements
Education
Bachelor’s Degree is the minimum requirement. A Master’s Degree is desirable.
Experience
Teacher certification and/or previous teaching experience is required. Experience with the IB Middle Years Programme or Diploma Programme is preferred.
Skills and Competencies
Strong English communication skills, with the ability to teach fluently in English. Passion for English Language and Literature and working with young people. Ability to develop engaging learning experiences and support students' academic and personal development.
Additional Requirements
Willingness to learn and implement the school's unique pedagogical approach. Commitment to professional development and participation in school development activities. Interest in holistic STEM-focused education and collaboration with students, colleagues, mentors, and parents.
