Background
LuNa Smelter Ltd is Rwanda’s established tin smelter in Kigali Rwanda. As part of its optimization and localization plans the company is recruiting professionals to fully optimize its production capacity and hence cater for the country’s growing demand in the mining sector, and that of the region.
Responsibilities
- Planning, scheduling, and coordinating maintenance activities to ensure optimal asset availability and operational efficiency.
- Developing and maintaining preventive and corrective maintenance plans in alignment with operational requirements.
- Coordinating with maintenance, operations, and engineering teams to ensure effective execution of maintenance work.
- Monitoring maintenance performance indicators and preparing reports to support informed decision-making.
- Ensuring maintenance activities comply with safety standards, company procedures, and regulatory requirements.
- Supporting continuous improvement initiatives related to maintenance planning, reliability, and cost optimization.
Qualifications and Competencies
- Bachelor’s degree in mechanical, Electrical, Industrial Engineering or related field
- Minimum 3–5 years’ experience in maintenance operations and planning
- Experience in maintenance planning, scheduling, and execution
- Good knowledge of preventive and corrective maintenance practices
- Ability to prepare maintenance plans, schedules, and reports
- Familiar with HSE standards and safe work practices
- Strong coordination, communication, and problem-solving skills
