Teaching Staff in Department of Public Administration and Good Governance
Institut d’Enseignement Supérieur de Ruhengeri (INES-Ruhengeri) is calling for applications for the following vacant teaching positions:
Main Duties and Responsibilities
- To teach the students and ensure adherence to and compliance with current advances in both research and pedagogy.
- To compile teaching, study tools, and other instructional materials, select appropriate textbooks and other literature sources, support teaching assistants and laboratory and/or fieldwork.
- To review, evaluate and provide advisory services on research proposals presented for either thesis or funding by students.
- To develop innovative course materials.
- To mobilize resources for research, teaching, development, networking, outreach, dissemination of research findings, community service, internships, and placements.
- To engage in relevant cutting-edge research along with students and other academic and technical staff.
- To provide advisory services in publishing research outputs by students in reputable journals and periodicals that enhance the visibility and recognition of INES-Ruhengeri as an institution of research excellence in the various thematic research fields.
- To participate in community development initiatives and faculty governance.
Note: Local and international candidates are welcome, with priority given to females.

Minimum job requirements
DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC ADMINISTRATION AND GOOD GOVERNANCE
One (1) position
- PhD holder in Public Administration, Good Governance, Political Science, Public Policy, Government Studies, or another closely related field.
- The PhD degree must be obtained from a recognized and accredited institution. Candidates who obtained their degree outside Rwanda must provide an official equivalence certificate from the competent authority.
- Demonstrated competence and in-depth knowledge in areas such as public sector management, governance systems, public policy analysis, administrative law, decentralization, strategic planning, and public service delivery.
- Proven professional experience of at least two (2) years in teaching, research, or professional practice in an academic or relevant institutional environment.
- Proven ability to conduct academic research, supported by publications in recognized national and/or international peer-reviewed journals.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to teach, supervise students, and collaborate effectively with colleagues and stakeholders.
- Demonstrated commitment to student success, active learning, ethical leadership, and good governance principles.
- Ability to work effectively with a diverse population of people and independently.
- Availability for direct appointment as Full-time Teaching Staff.
