JOB DETAILS:
  DUTERIMBERE-IMF PLC is a community development microfinance institution that was created by Duterimbere NGO jointly with other individual shareholders and aiming to improve the socio-economic status of low-income entrepreneurs, women in particular. DUTERIMBERE-IMF PLC offers a range of financial services and products which include loans, deposits as well as non-financial services.
In order to achieve its objectives, DUTERIMBERE-IMF PLC would like to recruit a self-motivated and qualified person who will take on the responsibilities of the Chief Business Development Officer (CBDO). He/she will be under the supervision of the Chief Executive Officer (CEO), in his/her day to day activities, he/she will be responsible for Business Development and Operations..

  Job Responsibilities:
• Develop new products and financial resources (deposits and borrowings);
• Ensure the quality of the loan portfolio;
• Provide adequate training to employees ;
• Develop the outreach of the microfinance institution;
• Ensure the management of key marketing of communication objectives;
• Set up new operational procedures and strengthen the existing ones where necessary.
DETAILED JOB DESCRIPTION
Under the supervision of the Chief Executive Officer of DUTERIMBERE-IMF PLC, the CBDO will be responsible for achieving the following objectives and will have the following responsibilities:
Outreach
• The Chief Business Development Officer supports business growth processes in his leadership position over the business development department.
• The Chief Business Development Officer focuses on the development and growth of the business through building relationships in the industry, identifying opportunities, and completing business deals.
• The Chief Business Development Officer combines strategic thinking and sharp executions coupled with relentless ambition and energy, which will enable the business to reach targets, goals, and attain objectives.
• The Chief Business Development Officer essentially ensures the successful delivery of the business’s outcomes through the strategic development of business plans.
• The Chief Business Development Officer Implements a 5 years strategic plan focusing on increasing the outreach of the microfinance institution through the opening of new branches, growth of the existing branches, increasing of deposits, development of new credit products and bringing new technologies.
Product development
• Identify new business opportunities, services, business products to new consumers and the generation of new resources;
• Oversee the activities and performance of all branches and departments under his/her supervision;
• Develop and implement new products and new strategies for selling.
Loan Portfolio management
• Supervise the staff under his responsibility and provide them with adequate support to make sure that collections are always on time and that the quality of the loan portfolio remains excellent;
• Lead the delinquency management strategy, including legal actions against customers and employee when appropriate;
Capacity building
• Participate in the recruitment of qualified and competent operational employees;
• Provide effective training to staff in different positions under his responsibility based on best practices;
• In collaboration with HR Manager, set-up an effective training program with well trained and pedagogical internal trainers;
• Create job satisfaction and motivating staff through various motivational mechanisms, such as creating an effective bonus system for staff ;
• Encourage with word and deeds the participation and creativity of the staff in matters related to improving the effectiveness of the organization and their job performance and job satisfaction.
• Career development
• Training and staff development plans;
• Strengthen the “sense of team and commitment to the mission” within the Institution;
• Conduct performance evaluations of the staff reporting to him/her and verify that the supervisory personnel also perform evaluations of their staff in a timely manner according to established procedures.

  Job Qualifications:
• Rwandan nationality;
• A bachelor’s degree, preferably a master’s degree in banking, Business Administration, Finance or Economics or any other related business field.
• Minimum of 5 years’ experience in microfinance, banking sector or similar administrative and financial services; at least 3 of which should have been in leadership positions;
• Advanced knowledge of a wide range of micro banking products including loans and savings;
• Advanced computer skills;
• Fluency in English, Kinyarwanda, and French with strong written and verbal communication skills,
• Excellent analytical, communication and interpersonal skills, and experience in people management;
• Highly motivated with a strong interest in the field.
