U.H Mining Company Ltd, a member of the RANI Group, is a leading mining company engaged in the exploration, development and extraction of strategic minerals in Rwanda. As part of its continued growth and mechanization programme, the Company seeks to recruit a highly competent and experienced Chief Mining Surveyor to support efficient, safe and sustainable mining operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage all mine surveying activities for underground and surface operations.
- Develop and maintain accurate mine plans, survey records and digital mapping systems.
- Conduct topographic, underground and engineering surveys using modern surveying equipment.
- Ensure accurate setting out of mine development, stopes, shafts, tunnels and infrastructure.
- Monitor ore extraction, stockpiles and production reconciliation.
- Establish and maintain mine control networks and survey benchmarks.
- Manage survey databases and GIS information.
- Support mine planning, geology and production teams with accurate spatial data.
- Ensure compliance with mining legislation, survey standards and health and safety requirements.
- Supervise and mentor survey personnel and contractors.
- Prepare technical survey reports and advise management on survey-related matters.
- Perform any other duties assigned by the Chief Operating Officer.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Mine Surveying, Surveying Engineering, Geomatics or a related field from a recognised university.
- Professional registration with a recognised surveying body is an added advantage.
- Minimum of three (3) years' relevant experience in mining surveying, preferably in underground mining.
- Proficiency in Total Station, GPS/GNSS, Drone Surveying and mine surveying software (Surpac, Datamine, AutoCAD, Civil 3D or equivalent).
- Strong analytical, leadership and communication skills.
- High level of integrity and ability to work in remote mining locations.
