Rwanda Interlink Transport Company (RITCO Ltd) is a public-private entity providing sustainable solutions to public transport for both rural and urban populations.
we are looking for the interested, qualified, committed and competent candidate to apply for the position of Chief Transport Operations Officer.
Responsibilities or duties
- Overseeing the activities in the Transport and technical department.
- Responsible for developing transport policy and procedures manual and adhering to its implementation
- Explore new routes in high population zones and conduct feasibility studies to establish their profitability,
- Oversee and provide guidance on the deployment of buses on several routes
- Ensure effective installation and compliance in the use of speed governors in all buses
- Participate in the recruitment of all staff in the transport department
- Design performance contracts and assign scores to their respective targets
- Carry out staff performance evaluation at the end of the year to assess the realization of set targets.
- Prepare an annual work plan and budget for the activities in the department
- Work closely with MININFRA, RURA, and RTDA and keep abreast with new laws, policies, and guidelines related to the management of public transport.
- Plan and schedule the buses according to the current demand and make projections of future demand for buses
- Prepare bids for new routes on behalf of RITCO
- Perform other duties as may be requested by the Chief Executive Officer.
- To take charge of all the company’s local cross-border transportation (if applicable). This includes contracts, rates, compliance reporting, forecasting, personnel, operational management, and product launches.
Qualifications or requirements (e.g., education, skills)
- Master’s degree in transport planning, Economics, Human resources, and administration fields.
- The position requires a flexible, analytical and creative candidate
- Fluent in English
Experience needed
- 5 years of working experience in a public transport company
- Knowledge and understanding of transport operations and mechanical aspects would be an added advantage
