JOB DETAILS:
UMUHUZA is a National NGO that strives to create a culture of peace across Rwanda through peaceful conflict management. The Organisation has been working since 2005 on a community outreach program, focussing on educating parents of young children to promote improved childhood development and create peaceful citizens. UMUHUZA is now running the Child Protection Project under Save the Children’s financial support in Ruhango and Burera districts. It is in the light of implementing the project activities in Burera district that the Organisation requires a skilled and committed person to perform the role of a Project Officer in that district. .

Job Responsibilities:
• Sensitization of key stakeholders (Local authorities: districts management, gender and Family promotion office, security organs, sectors, cells, villages, religious organizations, sectors, community-based CSOs) on the Child Protection project;
• Carry out parents facilitators training activities as per the project implementation plan;
• Supervise parents facilitators in conducting home to home visits;
• Prepare and submit monthly and quarterly work plans and reports in accordance with the agreed schedules;
• Report any potential constraints to the project implementation including any new actor engaged in child protection in Burera;
• Conduct field supervision and document activity progress, successes, learning, and challenges;
• Provide ongoing advice, support, and coaching to parent facilitators in the implementation of the project in Burera;
• Set up accountability and complaints handling mechanisms, under the guidance of the Umuhuza regulations;
• Manage all assets and other materials entrusted to you in line with your work;
• Participate in monthly planning and reporting events of the project;
• Coordinate the planning and reporting processes for the project and assume representativity functions with partners for the project.
• In addition, any other tasks that are reasonably assigned by the supervisor shall be carried out for the successful functioning of the organization.

Job Qualifications:
• Bachelor degree in Education and Social Sciences with at least 2 years in the field of Child Protection
• Training in Gender-based violence, positive discipline is an asset;
• Computer skills in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Access, and Powerpoint) and internet ;
• At least 2 years of work experience in child rights/protection, non-governamental organizations, and local administration structures;
• Very good command of English and Kinyarwanda.
• Possession of driving license, Cat. A would-be an added value.
