Over the last 11 years, the organization has evolved. In March 2021, in line with the organization's 5-year Global Strategy, Girl Effect made a decision to transition Ni Nyampinga (Girl Effect's youth brand in Rwanda) to a locally-led entity that can continue the mission of empowering Rwandan girls and young people. To that end, we are now moving on to formally close the Girl Effect office in Rwanda in accordance with the Rwanda Governance Board requirements while exploring ways for Ni Nyampinga to transition to becoming a locallybased entity.
