With 23 years of history, IMRO focuses on various initiatives such as Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights (SRHR), Poverty Alleviation, Gender Equality, Nutrition, Gender-Based Violence, HIV, Education, Environment, Peace Building, Health Promotion, Advocacy, and Networking. IMRO has been a pioneer in SRHR, conducting impactful interventions, training media professionals, empowering SRHR Civil Society Organizations (CSOs), and breaking barriers on safe abortion. The organization is committed to policy advocacy, engaging with national authorities, and actively participating in regional and global networks. Activity Background

In response to emerging concerns regarding the intricate interplay between pregnancy outcomes and limited access to Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights (SRHR) services (WHO: % of Teenage Pregnancy by Province : DHS Report 2019-2020), a strategic initiative has been launched. This complex challenge, marked by factors such as awareness gaps, socio-economic constraints, and geographical barriers, creates obstacles for individuals seeking essential reproductive health services. To address these intricacies, a highly qualified consultant will be engaged to execute a meticulous fact-finding mission, dissecting the correlation between pregnancy experiences and the availability, accessibility, and utilization of SRHR services. The objective is to derive actionable insights that inform evidence-based policies and interventions, fostering comprehensive reproductive health equity and providing decision-makers with valuable perspectives. Overall Objective of the Assignment

Conduct targeted fact-finding to unveil correlations between pregnancy outcomes and restricted access to SRHR services. The consultant will analyze barriers, provide evidence-based insights, and inform interventions for enhanced reproductive health equity. The goal is to foster universal access to essential SRHR services.

Responsibilities and deliverables of the Consultant

  • Prepare a comprehensive Inception Report detailing the research methodology and approach.
  • Execute thorough fact-finding on the correlation between pregnancy outcomes and restricted access to Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights (SRHR) services.
  • Conduct skillful analysis and interpretation of intricate data to identify key factors influencing SRHR service accessibility during pregnancy.
  • Provide evidence-based insights and recommendations to effectively address barriers, nurturing an environment supportive of reproductive health equity.
  • Develop a fact-finding report outlining findings, implications, and actionable strategies for informed interventions.
  • Facilitate a validation to ensure stakeholder input and refine findings from the study.

Required Profile of the Consultant

The consultant must have:

  • 5+ years of experience working on Sexual Reproductive Health and Rights.
  • Expertise in overseeing the implementation of policy recommendations.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of SRHR issues.
  • Strong communication and report-writing skills.

Duration of the Assignment and Expected Starting Date:

The assignment is expected to start immediately after notification of the selected consultant.

Submission of Proposal:

Interested consultants should submit their proposals (Technical and Financial Proposal) in a properly sealed envelope bearing the name of the consultant or the name of the consultancy firm and ensure acknowledgement of receipt.

Other documents to submit are; a detailed CV, proof of past similar assignments, work plan schedule, and any other relevant documentation; prepared in English, to the Headquarters of the IMRO Rwanda KG 40 St-Gasabo- Kigali Katweli Building 2nd Floor not later than February 16th, 2024, at 10:00 am Kigali local time and the opening will be at 3:00PM at IMRO conference room. Successful applicant will be notified within 3 days.
