The Position:
We are looking for an experienced and motivated individual to lead the execution and supervision of a Summer Camp for children ages 7-16. There will be two camps, separated into age-appropriate activities as follows: 7-11 and 12-16 year olds. The Director is responsible for the effective oversight and quality control of each camp, as well as for serving as the primary liaison to the parents of campers. S/he would work closely with the New Ventures team on campus, as well as virtually with the Managing Director. The Program Director oversees all of the camp programs to ensure that they are fun, safe, always prepared, meets the needs and exceed the expectations of campers and parents.

Roles and responsibilities:
• Lead and manage Summer Camp, staff, and all related activities
• Serve as primary liaison to parent community
• Develop and lead Orientation
• Assist in development/content creation of Summer Camp
• Train and prepare relevant staff and assistants
• Develop a risk management plan
• Oversee daily operations of the camp including food service, program, camper and staff supervision and safety; troubleshoot problems
• Ensure programs are high quality, challenging, creative and safe for all campers
• Develop and monitor budget for camp operations
• Conduct periodic evaluations to ensure the camps are meeting the needs of campers

Desired skills and qualifications:
• Holds a Bachelor’s Degree
• Has a minimum of 3-years related experience with programming and administering programs that reflect the camp’s population
• Holds CPR and Standard First Aid certifications
• Is passionate about children’s development and education
• Has experience leading children and liaising with the parent community
• Has good judgment
• Is creative, happy, energetic, organized and proactive
• Has excellent leadership, communication, judgment and team-building skills
• Loves the outdoors, physical activity and is in great physical condition
• Has skills in Google Drive, Microsoft Office, Internet research
