Fisher Global Ltd is expanding its agricultural and post-harvest operations and invites applications from qualified, motivated, and results-oriented candidates for the following positions:

DRYING SITE OFFICER

The Drying Site Officer will oversee post-harvest activities including the receiving, inspection, drying, sorting, grading, processing, and storage of agricultural products such as chili (urusenda), rosemary, and other crops.

The successful candidate will be tasked with maintaining product quality, reducing post harvest losses, ensuring food safety, and supporting efficient movement of produce from collection points through processing and storage.

Key Responsibilities

  • Receive and inspect agricultural produce from farmers and collection points.
  • Check incoming produce for quality, moisture levels, damage, and compliance with company standards.
  • Record quantities received and keep accurate documentation.
  • Oversee drying operations using mechanical dryers or approved drying methods.
  • Track drying temperatures, moisture levels, and processing times.
  • Ensure proper operation, cleaning, and maintenance of drying and processing equipment.
  • Supervise sorting, grading, cleaning, and initial processing of produce.
  • Ensure products meet company, buyer, food safety, and quality standards.
  • Oversee safe storage of dried and processed products.
  • Keep proper warehouse conditions, stock records, and FIFO inventory systems.
  • Detect and reduce causes of post-harvest losses.
  • Track processing output, product losses, stock levels, and quality performance.
  • Keep accurate daily, weekly, and monthly records and reports.
  • Assist product traceability and certification requirements.
  • Ensure compliance with food safety, hygiene, workplace safety, and environmental standards.
  • Organize with Field Officers, Logistics, Quality Control, and Operations teams.
  • Report equipment breakdowns, quality issues, losses, and other operational challenges promptly.
  • Assist harvesting and post-harvest planning and schedules.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Diploma (A2) in Agriculture, or Bachelor’s Degree in Food Science, Agribusiness, Post Harvest Technology, or a related field.
  • Having 1–2 years of relevant experience in post-harvest handling, food processing, drying operations, agribusiness, or warehouse operations will be an additional advantage.
  • Experience with drying systems, food processing equipment, or warehouse management is an advantage.
  • Knowledge of food safety, hygiene, quality control, and post-harvest loss reduction.
  • Basic computer skills for reporting and record keeping.
  • Strong organizational and operational skills.
  • Attention to detail and commitment to product quality.
  • Good teamwork and communication skills.
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
  • High level of integrity, accountability, and responsibility.
  • Must be 35 years of age or younger.

GENERAL REQUIREMENTS

The Candidates for both positions should demonstrate:

  • Strong work ethic and professional integrity.
