    Reports to: Executive Director

    Location: Head Office (Kimihurura- Kigali)

    Part 1: Context & Main Purpose of the Role in organization
    Action for Women Foundation (AWF) is a non-government organization that aims to see a society in which there is social and economic justice for all, where women and men are able to achieve their full human potential, and in which women have equal access to, and control over, economic resources.
    The Project Coordinator will be responsible for the Coordination and supervision the project “Women and Girls Voices: Ending Barriers to Women Economic Empowerment’’. The project coordinator will be responsible for coordinating all activities for effective and timely implementation ensuring that the project’s objectivities and results are achieved on time and according to the agreed standards in the project framework and in the related grant agreement document to meet donor requirements.
    Part 2: Detailed Accountabilities
    Under direct supervision of the Executive Director, the Project Coordinator will be responsible to:
    • Ensure timely project planning, coordination, implementation, monitoring & evaluation, and budget management
    • Assume daily activities of the Project, and provide managerial guidance and delegation to AWF program team and ensure the project activities are implemented appropriately, meeting deadlines and obtaining quality results
    • Coordination in developing, updating and follow-up on detailed work plan, in compliance with objectives, funding requirements, organizational procedures
    • Coordination and supervision of all activities related to the implementation of the project to ensure that the project’s objectivities and results are achieved in a timely and according to the agreed standards in the project framework and in the related grant agreement document
    • Guide staff in timely planning of activities (work plans and event/training calendars) that are consistent with programs/project(s) objectives
    • Basing on progressive lessons learned in WEE Project, participate in identification of needs and opportunities to plan new initiatives and develop upcoming programs
    • Ensure proper documentation, tracking and filing of all programs activities in compliance with organizational protocols and donor requirements
    • Actively manage monitoring and evaluation of programs and projects: attain agreements for work plans and log-frame between program team and beneficiaries
    • Ensure compliance with donor agreements and project proposals, notifying Executive Director immediately if issues arise
    • Work closely with Finance department to manage finance’s activities
    • Compile report of activities on time and with accurate data (monthly, quarterly and annual reports to a high standard
    • Ensure good adherence to Knowledge Management principles by documenting and sharing lessons learned, results and impacts, as well as developing and communicating best practices with AWF staff, members, Donors and other key stakeholders.
    Collaboration & Coordination
    • In close collaboration with the Executive Director, ensure AWF representation in the relevant technical coordination meetings and other events
    • Maintain strong relationships with government institutions, local authorities, other stakeholders, donor and other partner organizations through regular communication and fulfillment of project requirements and organizational mandate
    • Participate in project proposals development and lead grant/funding requests
    • Proactively build team cohesion through regular meetings and brainstorming sessions
    • Maximize effectiveness & utilization of external consultants, partners and resource organization, including preparation of Terms of Reference for planned activities
    • Maintain positive relationships with all partners, staff and beneficiaries through timely communication
    • Assist in preparation of applications for funds to various donors
    • Maintain flexibility to perform other tasks as and when needed by the Executive Director
    Part 3: Skill Profile
    Relevant Experience & competencies Key Interfaces

    Postgraduate degree in social sciences, Gender studies, or law
    • Minimum of 5 years of work experience in gender and women empowerment and social sciences related field
    • Proven experience in Project Management with NGO development work and relevant knowledge
    • Experience working with local leadership, development partners and other civil society organizations engaged in Women Empowerment Work Internal
    • All functions at Head Office and Field
    • Board of Directors
