Responsibilities or duties

• Plan and coordinate plant tissue culture and regeneration activities for banana, cassava, and potato.
• Develop and optimize tissue culture and embryogenic cell suspension protocols
• Supervise large-scale multiplication and quality control of in vitro plant materials.
• Coordinate regeneration, acclimatization, and transfer of plantlets to greenhouse and screenhouse facilities.
• Ensure compliance with laboratory SOPs for tissue culture laboratories, biosafety.
• Train RAB staff and students in tissue culture techniques
• Maintain documentation and traceability of plant material.
• Supervise tissue culture technicians and laboratory assistants.
• Support preparation of plant materials for trials, breeding, and seed systems.
• Prepare technical reports and scientific publications
• Undertake any other duties s assigned by his/her supervisor
