BACKGROUND.
Africa Development and Education Foundation (ADEF) is a nonprofit international nongovernmental organization whose vision is Education for Sustainable development. Promoting Education is given much attention through organizations’ intervention programs that acts as a catalyst towards the realization of developmental oriented education by supporting the beneficiaries to be equipped with technical skills competitive to the labor market. Africa's development and education foundation was first registered in Rwanda in 2005.
ADEF-TVET School seeks to recruit highly qualified, self- motivated and hardworking professionals for the following position
Trainer/ Teacher- Carpentry.

Key Responsibilities
• Develop and implement instructional plans and activities in the laboratory.
• Implement and coordinate work-study arrangements
• Instruct and demonstrate proper safety practices, procedures, and standards.
• Coordinate and instruct aspects of the carpenter apprenticeship and curriculum.
• Monitor and record student progress providing formative feedback and evaluations.
• Build positive relationships with students by providing meaningful and current instruction.
• Provide students with clear expectations, continual feedback, and logical consequences.
• Provide cover-off during absences and assist coworkers with peak workload.


Job Skills:
• Knowledge of shop mathematics, including elementary geometry acquired through trades related training.
• Knowledge of: principles that apply to wood construction; the use of shop and hand-tools, the properties of various materials and techniques used to build, modify and repair structures to withstand varying loads.
• Knowledge of instructional techniques and inventory control principles and practices.
• Able to implement the school curriculum and other programs and operations.
• Strong presentation skills with the ability to develop and deliver instructional material.
• Strong written, oral and interpersonal communication skills are required( able to communicate in English, French or Arabic.
• Strong organizational skills are required to coordinate the many aspects of the work.
• Self-motivated and client-orientated with a strong sense of personal ethics, integrity, and quality.
• Strong interpersonal and intercultural skills
• High level of flexibility and tolerance to ambiguity.
• Computer skills in Word, Excel, PowerPoint and other work-related software.


Required skills, Behaviors & Experience
• Minimum of A2 in Welding
• Minimum of 2 years of direct experience in training.
