RECRUITMENT OF TRAINEES: Training in Culinary Arts and Hospitality Program

Background

RICEM (Rwanda Institute for Cooperative, Entrepreneurship, and Microfinance) was launched in June 2014 as a Vocational Technical Institute for the three pillars, namely Cooperatives, Entrepreneurship, and Microfinance. In partnership with Feed The Future Rwanda Hanga Akazi, USAID project implemented by RTI, we are creating substantial employment opportunities within Rwanda's culinary and hospitality industry. The project's specific objectives are multifaceted, ranging from facilitating employment opportunities for participants and promoting economic inclusion, especially for women, youth, and individuals with disabilities, to enhancing the skills and competencies. 

Program description

To ensure a well-rounded learning experience and industry exposure, the program immerses trainees in real workplace environments for 90% of the program duration and 10% at RICEM campus for soft and Technical skills training. This hands-on approach allows them to apply their knowledge and skills in practical scenarios, effectively preparing them for the challenges and demands of the culinary arts and hospitality industry. The implementation of the Culinary Arts and Hospitality Workforce Development Training program will train 250 trainees. As a result of this program, 225 trainees will successfully secure employment. 

In this regard, we are actively seeking trainees with the following profile to participate in our diverse programs: 

  1. Rwandan nationality between the age of 16 and 30 years of age;
  2. High school diploma in TVET or relevant program (Hospitality Industry);
  3. Certificate in the selected program or relevant;
  4. Good understanding of English.
  5. Willingness to learn. 

Trainees per program

  1. Barista techniques training: 50 trainees
  2. Wait staff training: 100 trainees
  3. Baking training: 50 trainees
  4. Culinary arts: 50 trainees
