At Signalytic, you'll be part of a forward-thinking team committed to making a significant impact. We offer a collaborative work environment where your contributions are valued and you have the opportunity for professional growth. We are looking for a dedicated individual who is ready to take on a key support role in our expanding operations.

Organizational Profile

Signalytic provides digital health infrastructure for remote healthcare facilities, particularly within the Rwandan context. The company’s solar-powered system, S+ Platform, is engineered to function in areas with unreliable internet and power, a common challenge across the region. This system integrates essential hardware—a mini-server, a tablet, a solar panel, and a Wi-Fi router—to host applications and establish a local network. Through this technology, Signalytic helps digitize health information, enable real-time data sharing, and enhance supply chain management to prevent medicine stockouts.

Role Summary

The Lead Field Technician is responsible for conducting and overseeing installations of Signalytic’s S+ system, providing in-field technical support, and delivering hands-on training to internal technicians and Technical Service Providers (TSPs). This role ensures high-quality implementation and maintenance of systems and acts as the technical lead and escalation point for field activities. The Lead Field Technician reports directly to the Deployment Director.

Key Responsibilities

Installations & Site Readiness

  • Conduct and oversee site assessments to evaluate power, roof access, and readiness
  • Conduct installations of the S+ system at client sites.
  • Support and supervise internal and external teams during installations
  • Identify and resolve outstanding issues prior to installation.
  • Maintain and update installation tool checklists and ensure kit preparedness.

Field Support

  • Respond to complex or escalated field support tickets.
  • Assist field technicians and TSPs in troubleshooting hardware and connectivity issues.
  • Conduct on-site diagnostics and repairs when needed
  • Ensure documentation of support interventions (photos, logs, outcomes)

Training & Handover

  • Deliver technical training to TSPs and internal field technicians
  • Ensure field personnel are confident with tools, systems, and troubleshooting procedures
  • Support smooth handover to field support after installation or trial periods

Quality Control & Documentation

  • Perform internal QA and checklist reviews during and after installations and support calls
  • Ensure complete documentation: timestamps, photos, and client sign-off
  • Escalate technical issues or patterns to the Deployment Director and the tech team.

Required Qualifications & Skills

  • Technical diploma or degree in electrical, mechanical, or computer-related field
  • 3+ years of experience in hardware installations and technical support
  • Proficiency in electrical work, tools, and field diagnostics
  • Strong communication skills and ability to lead field trainings
  • Able to work independently in rural and low-infrastructure environments
  • Fluency in English and Kinyarwanda is required; further language skills are an asset.

All candidates must have the legal right to work in Rwanda.

Preferred Experience

  • Experience with solar systems, networking, or hardware deployments in Rwanda or in East Africa
  • Background in technician mentoring or team supervision
  • Familiarity with Android tablets, Wi-Fi/4G setups, and remote troubleshooting

Tools & Systems
