About the Role

The candidate will be based in our offices in Kigali where one of our subsidiaries, Salvo Grima Rwanda (SGR), was established in 2020, and today employs over 100 team members. SGR is a distribution company and represents a growing number of world-leading manufacturers including Unilever, Danone, British American Tobacco, Kellogg’s, SC Johnson, Mondelez International and Mars Wrigley.

Salvo Grima Rwanda provides an opportunity for Energetic Rwandan to Apply for the Post of Logistics Assistant who will be responsible for providing support to the Logistics Department by managing the supply chain.

The Logistics Assistant will report directly to Operations Manager but will also work closely with all other Company’s departments.

MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES.

  • Maintain records of shipments, inventory and provide administrative support for logistics operations
  • Organize transportation routes and ensure shipments are delivered in a timely manner
  • Assist with the preparation of shipping documents, bills of lading and invoices
  • Work with vendors and logistics providers to ensure cost-effective transportation
  • Tracking and monitoring shipments
  • Troubleshooting and resolving issues related to shipments
  • Plan for all incoming goods such as order placement and transport arrangements
  • Liaise with customs clearance agent
  • Ensure all required documentation for clearing and importation is correct and filed for future reference
  • Supervise of outgoing goods such as planning of deliveries and depot replenishments
  • Liaise with the Management and concerned department for weekly SOP meetings leading to stock orders from each supplier
  • Responsible for managing all products stored within Bonded warehouses (DPW)
  • Updating of stock movements
  • Product registration with relevant authorities such as RFDA, RICA etc
  • Carrying out any other task which may be reasonably required in this position.

ACADEMIC AND PROFESSIONAL QUALIFICATIONS

  • Minimum three (3) years of experience in a similar role
  • Preferred bachelor’s in supply chain, Logistics, Management, Business/Public Administration, Economics or any other relevant discipline
  • Professional License/Certification in Supply Chain/Logistics or equivalent relevant professional experience would be an added advantage
  • Fluency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Google Drive
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills in English and Kinyarwanda required; French language skills are desired
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
  • Flexibility and adaptability to changing priorities and deadlines
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize workload effectively and attention to detail and accuracy
