Background:
The Water and Sanitation Specialist will be responsible for overseeing the design, engineering, construction supervision, quality assurance, capacity building, community engagement, procurement, and contract management related to water supply systems, sanitation facilities, and stormwater management infrastructure.
Responsibilities:
- Lead the design and preparation of technical drawings, specifications, and Bills of Quantities (BOQs).
- Conduct feasibility surveys, hydrologic and hydraulic analyses, and water quality assessments.
- Supervise installation, start-up, testing, commissioning, and performance monitoring of WASH systems.
- Identify training needs and implement capacity-building plans for volunteers, caretakers, and community members.
- Prepare Terms of reference for recruitment of consultants and contractors.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Water Resources, Civil, Environmental Engineering, or related field.
- Min. 10 years relevant experience for Bachelor holders, Min. 5 years for Master holders.
- Strong understanding of Rwanda's WASH policies and standards.
Experience:
Relevant experience in WASH planning, design, and supervision.
