Background

Irebero Sapientia Investement Corporation Ltd (I.S.I.Company Ltd ) invites all interested and qualified people to apply for the exciting role of Accountant at his school APAPEC IREBERO Nursery and Primary School located in Kigali city, Gasabo district, Gisozi Sector. The school is owned by Irebero Sapientia Investement Corporation Ltd (I.S.I.Company Ltd ).

Core Purpose

To oversee all financial and accounting functions of the school. This role ensures accurate financial reporting, strict regulatory compliance, efficient budget management and seamless payroll processing to support the school's educational mission.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop annual operating budgets, monitor spending, and analyse budget variances;
  • Ensure that all financial transactions are properly recorded filed and reported;
  • Prepare monthly, termly and annual financial statements for the school board and Business Operations Manager;
  • Manage pupils billing, track outstanding balances and issue invoices or receipts;
  • Process monthly salaries, benefits, pension contributions, and statutory tax deductions for all staff;
  • Verify vendor invoices, track purchase orders, and process timely disbursements;
  • Perform monthly reconciliations of all school bank accounts;
  • Prepare documentation for annual external audit and ensure compliance with national tax laws;
  • Check termly the availability of an updated registry of school property, equipment, and inventory held by the Scholl Logistician;
  • Check the performance of monthly reconciliation of petty cash;
  • Ensure perfect filing of accounting documents.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or other related domains;
  • Professional accounting certificate delivered by Institute of Certified Public Accountants Rwanda (ICAPR);
  • Experience of 5 years minimum of accounting experience, ideally within an educational institution.

Values and Other Competencies

  • Proficiency in accounting software (e.g. QuickBooks, Sage) and advanced MS Excel skills.
  • Excellent communication in Kinyarwanda and English for interacting with parents and staff. French is a significant asset;
  • High integrity, sharp attention to detail;
  • Putting pupils and parents first;
  • Showing real devotion and commitment at work;
  • Having qualities like adaptability, empathy, patience, engagement, active listening, lifelong learning, free of bias, respect, creativity, collaboration, honesty, punctuality;
  • Having good interpersonal skills;
  • Having strong problem-solving skills;
  • Being self-motivated and able to work under pressure;
  • To have a clean criminal record.
