Job Summary
Kigali Christian School is seeking caring, patient, and dedicated after-school teachers for its preschool section. Successful candidates will look after the children after school: nap time, evening snack, and welcoming them until their parents arrive. They will help create a safe, warm, and reassuring environment for each child.
Main Responsibilities
- Welcoming toddlers at the end of classes and supervising them until their parents arrive
- Supervise children's naps and ensure their comfort and safety
- Prepare, serve and supervise the evening snack, while respecting hygiene rules.
- Provide basic hygiene care (handwashing, toileting, changing)
- Offer calm and fun activities (games, stories, songs, drawing) while waiting for parents
- Release each child only to their parents or authorized persons, after verification
- Inform parents about the afternoon's schedule (nap, snack, behavior) and report any incidents
- Supporting the emotional and social development of children
- Maintain the cleanliness and safety of the guard areas
- Perform any other tasks assigned by the supervisor
Required Qualifications
- Applicants must have at least an A0 diploma in early childhood education; for foreign applicants, a diploma in general pedagogy is required.
- Experience with children is an asset
- Having a passion for working with children
- Good communication skills
- Fluency in French; knowledge of English and Kinyarwanda is an asset.
- Demonstrate patience, integrity, and responsibility
- To adhere to Christian values
