Arts Regulations and Compliance Specialist

Responsibilities or duties

  • Review and update regulations, policies and guidelines governing artistic activities ensuring alignment with national laws, international standards and industry best practices.
  • Establish clear and comprehensive compliance standards and procedures for artists, organizations and cultural institutions by providing clarity and guidance on legal and ethical requirements.
  • Engage with artists, arts organizations, legal experts, government agencies and industry stakeholders to solicit feedback and address artists concerns.
  • Conduct risk assessments and impact analysis to identify potential regulatory gaps, vulnerabilities, and emerging issues within the arts sector proactively addressing challenges and mitigating compliance risks.
  • Develop and deliver training Programmes, workshops and educational materials to raise awareness and build capacity on regulatory compliance issues among artists, organizations and cultural professionals.
  • Provide timely and accurate guidance, advice, and interpretation of regulations to artists, cultural institutions and stakeholders.
  • Develop and disseminate resources, toolkits, and compliance checklists to assist artists and organizations in understanding and meeting regulatory obligations.
  • Forge partnerships with educational institutions, professionals and industry experts to leverage expertise, share resources, and promote a Arts of legal literacy and compliance within the arts community.
  • Ensure adherence to regulatory requirements and ethical standards.
  • Propose appropriate enforcement actions, including warnings, fines, sanctions, or legal proceedings against individuals or organizations found to be in violation of regulatory standards.
  • Advocate for the interests of the arts community in regulatory and legislative processes.
  • Collaborate with international organizations, cultural agencies, and peer institutions to share best practices and information exchange on Intellectual Property Law.
  • Prepare the weekly, monthly, quarterly and annual reports of activities and share them with the supervisor.
  • Carry out any other assignment as requested by superiors.
