About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Assistant Logistics Coordinator to support the efficient operation of our logistics, transportation, ropeway maintenance, and green leaf collection activities. The successful candidate will play a critical role in ensuring the reliability of ropeway systems, coordinating transportation schedules, maintaining accurate operational records, and supporting the timely delivery of green leaf to the factory.

This position is ideal for a technically skilled professional with experience in mechanical maintenance and logistics coordination who is committed to safety, operational excellence, and continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities

Ropeway Maintenance and Operations

  • Inspect, maintain, and repair ropeway mechanical systems and equipment.
  • Carry out preventive and corrective maintenance on wire ropes, gearboxes, brakes, bearings, drive systems, sheaves, towers, and related components.
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical faults and equipment failures.
  • Conduct routine safety inspections to ensure reliable and safe ropeway operations.
  • Respond promptly to equipment breakdowns and support recovery of operations.
  • Maintain accurate maintenance records, inspection reports, and repair logs.
  • Ensure compliance with safety procedures, technical standards, and manufacturer recommendations.

Logistics and Transportation Coordination

  • Assist in planning and coordinating green leaf transportation activities.
  • Monitor transportation schedules to ensure timely delivery of green leaf to the factory.
  • Liaise with agronomists, capitas, farmers, drivers, and other stakeholders regarding transportation plans and operational updates.
  • Address transportation challenges and operational delays promptly.
  • Support initiatives aimed at improving logistics efficiency and reducing operational costs.

Inventory and Records Management

  • Maintain accurate records of green leaf purchases, receipts, inventory, and transportation data within the Easyway database.
  • Manage tea-buying tools and operational materials, including receipts, scales, mobile phones, and green leaf bags.
  • Maintain detailed Excel records on vehicle mileage, fuel consumption, transported quantities, and operational activities.
  • Prepare periodic reports on logistics performance, inventory status, vehicle usage, and maintenance activities.

Vehicle and Equipment Management

  • Monitor vehicle condition and support preventive maintenance scheduling.
  • Maintain records of vehicle repairs and servicing activities.
  • Prepare requisitions for spare parts, maintenance services, and operational requirements.
  • Monitor utilization and performance of transportation equipment and report issues as required.

Compliance and Team Collaboration

  • Ensure compliance with company policies, environmental regulations, and workplace safety standards.
  • Collaborate with logistics, maintenance, accounts, and leaf-buying teams to achieve operational goals.
  • Participate in safety meetings, training programs, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Provide timely logistics-related updates and operational information to relevant stakeholders.

Qualifications and Experience

Education

  • Diploma or Technical Certificate in Mechanical Engineering, Electromechanical Engineering, or a related field.

Experience

  • Minimum of 2 years' experience in mechanical maintenance, logistics operations, transportation coordination, or a related field.
  • Experience working with ropeway systems, tea manufacturing operations, or agricultural logistics will be an added advantage.
