BioCap Project Manager

Responsibilities or duties

Reporting to the Project Lead, The Project Manager of BioCap has the following responsibilities:

  • Plan, coordinate, and oversee implementation of project activities in accordance with approved work plans and budgets.
  • Facilitate the day-to-day functions of the project PI in Rwanda
  • Coordinate scientific, technical, and administrative teams to ensure timely delivery of project outputs.
  • Liaise with development partners, collaborating institutions, and national regulators to facilitate project implementation.
  • Monitor project performance against targets and indicators and prepare consolidated technical and financial progress reports.
  • Ensure compliance with donor, biosafety, regulatory, and institutional requirements.
  • Support stakeholder engagement, communication, and visibility of biotechnology programs
  • Implement any other activity assigned by the project PI

Qualifications or requirements (e.g., education, skills)

Experience needed

  • PhD in Plant pathology
  • 12 Years of relevant experience
  • PhD in Plant Biotechnology
  • 12 Years of relevant experience
  • PhD in Moleculor Biology
  • 12 Years of relevant experience
  • PHD in Plant Breeding
  • 12 Years of relevant experience

Required competencies and key technical skills

  • Knowledge in conflict management
  • Ability to work as a team coordinator and make decisions with minimal support
  • Good organisational and time management skills, detail oriented with ability to plan workload and prioritize;
  • Strong leadership and decision making skills with ability to make decisions under pressure, able to prioritize and stick to prioritization;
  • Ability to manage stakeholder relationships and interact at all levels
