The role involves teaching and educating students according to guidelines provided by the National Curriculum Framework under the overall guidance of the competent education authority.

Key responsibilities include teaching and educating students according to their educational needs, abilities, and attainment potential. This involves planning, preparing, and delivering lessons to all students in the class. The teacher will also adopt and work towards the implementation of the school development plan.

Further duties include assigning work, correcting and marking work carried out by students. The teacher will be responsible for assessing, recording, and reporting on the development, progress, attainment, and behaviour of individual students. Providing or contributing to oral and written assessments, reports, and references relating to individual students or groups of students is also a core part of the job.
