RANI Group is seeking to recruit a highly qualified, experienced and results-oriented Chief Finance Officer (CFO) to provide strategic financial leadership across the Group.

Position Details

Job Title: Chief Finance Officer (CFO)

Department: Finance

Reports To: Chief Executive Officer (CEO)

Duty Station: RANI Group Head Office, Rwanda

Supervises: Finance Managers, Accountants, Treasury, Tax, Payroll, Procurement Finance and Internal Financial Controls across the Group

Job Purpose

The Chief Finance Officer is responsible for leading the financial strategy, governance, planning, reporting, compliance and risk management of RANI Group and its subsidiaries. The CFO will ensure sound financial stewardship, support strategic growth, optimise capital allocation and maintain robust internal controls while advising the CEO and Board on all financial matters.

Key Roles and Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement the Group's financial strategy aligned with corporate objectives. Advise the CEO and Board on financial performance, investments, mergers, acquisitions and business growth.
  • Lead annual budgets, long-term financial planning and forecasting.
  • Prepare and present monthly, quarterly and annual consolidated financial reports.
  • Ensure compliance with IFRS, tax laws, mining regulations and statutory reporting requirements. Oversee treasury, cash flow, banking relationships and working capital.
  • Lead financial risk management and internal control systems.
  • Manage external audits and relationships with auditors, regulators and financial institutions. Support project financing, capital raising and investment negotiations.
  • Oversee procurement finance, cost control and capital expenditure.
  • Establish and monitor KPIs across all subsidiaries.
  • Lead finance teams through coaching, succession planning and performance management.
  • Ensure timely payroll and statutory remittances.
  • Drive digital transformation and ERP/financial systems improvements.
  • Perform any other duties assigned by the CEO.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Master’s degree in finance, Accounting, Economics, Business Administration or related field (Bachelor's minimum requirement).
  • Professional qualification such as ACCA, CPA, CA or equivalent is mandatory.
  • Minimum of 5 years' progressive finance experience, with at least 3 years in senior financial leadership. Experience within mining, manufacturing or extractive industries is highly desirable.
  • Strong knowledge of IFRS, taxation, corporate governance and financial modelling.
  • Excellent leadership, communication and strategic decision-making skills.
  • Good proficiency in both Kinyarwanda and English. Proficiency in French is an added advantage.
