About the Role
As a Construction Procurement Intern, you will assist the Senior Specialist & Electrical Engineer in contract drafting, importation coordination, and engineering-related procurement activities. This role is designed to provide hands-on operational experience while offering the opportunity to learn and grow into broader procurement, engineering, and stakeholder management responsibilities.
Responsibilities
- Assist in the preparation of RFQs, bid evaluations, and the coordination of supplier communication.
- Support in drafting and reviewing supplier contracts under guidance, ensuring alignment with OAF/RICA procurement policies.
- Help maintain procurement trackers and prepare periodic updates on sourcing activities
- Support in developing and updating contract tracking tools and documentation for leadership visibility.

Qualifications
Across all roles, these are the general qualifications we look for. For this role specifically, you will have:
- Bachelor's degree in engineering or a related technical field.
- Understanding of construction/engineering procurement, supply chain, and contract management (including FIDIC principles).
- Basic work experience in a related field.
- Basic knowledge of engineering standards and practices.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills for working with stakeholders and suppliers.

Interns will be provided with a reasonable stipend for the duration of their contract. Rural area based fellows will be provided assistance in locating suitable housing.
Eligibility
This role is only open to citizens or permanent residents of Rwanda.
