JOB DETAILS:
Crew Scheduling & Crew Control Officer
• Reports to: Supervisor, Crew Scheduling & Planning
• Department: Flight Operations
Job Purpose
Ensure that published Flight Crew Rosters are managed in full compliance with RCAR and company policies. Maintaining safety standards and contributing to on-time performance through effective crew management. Non-Compliance could adversely impact the operation of the Airline and manage all training activities associated with Flight Crew training.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:
• Monitoring and tracking of crew compliance/noncompliance with flight and duty time regulations
• Record keeping of flight crew duty and flight time (on shift);
• Calling of standby crew in the event of a change or no-show crew (on shift);
• To ensure the safe and reliable transport of crew on duty to and from the work place;
• Prioritizing safety and punctuality in all crewing decisions
• Communicate to Ops control, Crew scheduling Manage and supervisor for foreseen delay or disruptions due to crew constraints
• Ensuring that all crew duties (on shift) are accurately maintained in accordance with the approved FTL scheme
• Handling Crew illness procedures, crew notification/calls, flight crew on flights and other duty changes.
• To receive and action messages regarding Flight Schedule changes, update and amend crew patterns via AIMS
• Ensure an effective and efficient shift Handover (E.g. Written shift Handovers)
• Flight crew scheduling follows guidelines in OM Part A by the Director of Flight Operations and within the stipulated Flight & Duty Time Limitations (FDTL). He/she will be responsible for ensuring that legal and qualified crews are rostered for all flights and their optimum utilization.
• Monitoring/Tracking flight crew movement and ensuring that expected prolonged delays are included in the crew planning process, and FDTL exceedances do not occur.
• Monitoring non-adherence to the RCAA guidelines on FDTL and report on all FDTL exceedances with justifications.
• Scheduling of qualified crew for flights to airports/routes that have special qualification/recurrent requirements.
• Scheduling of crew and day-to-day roster planning to meet the requirements of Airline policies and guidelines with regard to crew pairing and distribution of flight duty assignments amongst air crew.
• Ensuring that all information related to flights & crew are recorded in AIMS, for crew tracking and FDTL monitoring.
• Ensuring that all changes in crew scheduling are communicated to flight Crew, Ops control & Crew Logistics.
• Required to have constant communication with the Fleet Managers/Chief Pilot/Duty manager OCC and Cabin Services Management for proper crew utilization
• Ensuring that crew utilization (both Pilot and Cabin Crew) are managed in the most efficient and cost-effective way, in compliance with documented statutory and regulatory requirements
• Record keeping of flight crew duty, flight time and fatigue analysis;
• Reporting safety hazards and occurrences

Desired Profile: Required education, Experience, and Abilities
• Bachelor’s degree preferably in IT or communications
• Computer Literate;
• Knowledge of RCARs;
• 1 year’s minimum experience in Aviation/Airline industry
• Fluent in English and French
• Personal Accountability& Commitment to achieve
• Good communication skills
• Understanding of schedules
• Resilience and Flexibility (Can do attitude);
• Team Work
• Computer literate
• Ability to respond quickly to change
