Background
Gasmeth Energy is to develop and produce methane from Lake Kivu in a safe, efficient, and environmentally sound manner. The Company will distribute compressed natural gas (CNG) throughout the country, reducing or removing environmental pollution using cleaner, greener gas, displacing liquid or solid hydrocarbons.
PRIMARY PURPOSE OF THE POSITION:
The Document Controller will be responsible for administering the document control system for the Lake Kivu Compressed Natural Gas Project during a six-month maternity cover. The role ensures all project documentation is accurately received, registered, distributed, tracked, archived, and maintained in accordance with Gasmeth Energy's document control procedures and project requirements. The position supports effective communication and information management across engineering, procurement, construction, contractors, and other project stakeholders.
PRIMARY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Maintain and update the Master Deliverables Register (MDR) and track document status (submissions, revisions, approvals)
- Ensure proper document control practices, including numbering, version control, and filing
- Monitor document workflows and follow up on outstanding submissions and approvals
- Identify gaps, inconsistencies, and delays in document tracking
- Support improvements to document control processes, including standardization of templates and tracking tools
- Coordinate document flow between project teams (engineering, procurement, construction, contractors)
- Prepare transmittals, document logs, and reports
- Support the Project Controls team, including data tracking, reporting, and coordination tasks
- Maintain SharePoint and other electronic document repositories.
Qualifications and Requirements
Minimum Education:
- Perform document quality checks before distribution.
- Support project close-out activities, including document archiving and handover.
Interaction with the following groups will be required to achieve the above:
- CNG Team members
- Gasmeth Energy Ltd Employees
- Local and International Contractors
- Third party engineers
QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS
- Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Quantity Surveying, Engineering, or relevant field.
- Expert level experience in Microsoft Excel, MS Office, and SharePoint.
- Strong organization and document management skills
- High attention to detail and accuracy
- Professional understanding of project or document control processes
PREFERRED SKILLS
- Structured and methodical approach to work
- Strong follow-up and communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Professional handling of confidential project information.
- Proactive and willing to learn
