JOB DETAILS:
Purpose of the position:
• The purpose of the post is to effectively take the lead in the implementation of Education project interventions within the Nkamira transit center. The candidate will lead in the provision of education support to ECD, primary and secondary school students, distribute scholastic materials, as well as ensuring that all issues relating to the education of school-age refugee children in the camp are timely responded to and reported to the Education in Emergency Manager(HO).He/She will also include providing accurate data relating to the numbers of children attending School, children with special needs, and school feeding as well as the numbers of children dropping out of school both in primary and secondary schools within and outside the Camp.

• Coordinate the implementation of the WV Rwanda Education in Emergency project, including identifying ongoing priority areas.
• Provide weekly, monthly, semi-annual, and annual reports
• Ensure that sector budgets are aligned with project designs and DIPs.
• Support ECD caregivers and liaise with them to report children’s attendance daily
• Distribute scholastic materials and uniforms to children in school
• follow up on school dropouts and encourage them to resume school
• Support teachers with necessary capacity building through training and provide materials e.g didactic materials
• Conduct sensitization meetings for students and parents on the importance of education
• Liaise with District and other local education authorities to ensure quality in the delivery of services.
• Monitor/supervise and provide pedagogical support to teachers
20% School feeding Facilitation
• Provide support to school feeding of ECD, Primary and secondary school children
• Ensure timely transfers of money for feeding students in primary and secondary school.
• Liaise with school head teachers and ECD caregivers to ensure refugee children get food and provide reports on school feeding issues on a daily basis with suggestions on how to mitigate those issues
20% Child protection
• Liaise with other child protection partners in the camp to prevent, mitigate and respond to children’s risks
• Do regular reporting on the progress of psychosocial and child protection support services
• Participate in child protection (CP) meetings
20% Special needs
• Liaise with ECD caregivers, Headteachers of Primary and Secondary schools to identify children with special needs
• Report cases of children with special needs as they arise and support them to enroll in education
• Link children with special needs with other partners such as Handicap International and ensure they get equal education services
Perform any other activity as requested by the immediate Supervisor

Qualifications: Education/Knowledge/Technical Skills and Experience
Required Professional Experience
• At least 3 years of Professional experience in education (of which 1 year is in Education in an emergency).
• 1 Year of experience working with Refugee Communities
• Demonstrated experience in Early Childhood Education,
• Experience in working with and coordinating with Primary and Secondary schools and other stakeholders implementing child protection programs and Special needs Education
• Strong interpersonal, intercultural, and communication skills

Required Education,training, license,registration, and certification
Bachelor's Degree in Education or other relevant subject.

The salary is commensurate with qualifications and experience.
