The Management of U.H Mining Company Ltd invites applications from qualified, competent, and experienced internal and external candidates for the position below.
Job Purpose
The Environment management officer is responsible for implementing environmental management activities in line with company policies, legal requirements and sustainability standards, ensuring compliance and supporting responsible mining practices.
Key Responsibilities
- Implement environmental management plans and ensure regulatory compliance.
- Monitor water quality, air quality, waste management and land rehabilitation.
- Support environmental audits, inspections and reporting.
- Promote environmental awareness and social responsibility.
- Prepare environmental reports.
- Ensure compliance with ESIA commitments and environmental permits.
- Supervise environmental monitoring programmes.
- Train staff on environmental standards.
- Coordinate with other departments on environmental matters.
- Perform any other duties assigned by Management.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Management, Natural Resources or related field.
- Minimum 3 years' relevant experience, preferably in mining.
- Knowledge of environmental regulations.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
- GIS skills are an added advantage.
- Good proficiency in both Kinyarwanda and English. Proficiency in French is an added advantage.

Work Environment
- Office and field work.
- Regular interaction with communities and mine operations.
- Travel between operational sites may be required.
