The Fountain of Knowledge and Character

The University has its headquarters in Nyagatare District and a branch campus in Remera, Gasabo District, near the Airtel Building and across from Amahoro Stadium.
EAUR is seeking qualified and experienced professionals to join its team in the following positions.
ESTATE OFFICER
1 Position | Nyagatare Campus
Job Summary
The Estate Officer will be responsible for the effective management, maintenance, safety, and proper functioning of the University's buildings, facilities, utilities, equipment, and physical infrastructure.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and oversee University buildings, premises, facilities, and physical infrastructure.
- Conduct regular inspections to identify defects, safety risks, damages, and maintenance requirements.
- Maintain an updated inventory of buildings, facilities, equipment, and physical assets.
- Plan, coordinate, and monitor routine, preventive, and corrective maintenance.
- Coordinate repairs involving buildings, electrical systems, plumbing, water systems, mechanical equipment, and other facilities.
- Monitor electrical installations, generators, backup power systems, lighting, switches, sockets, and related equipment.
- Coordinate maintenance of plumbing and water systems, including pipes, tanks, pumps, drainage, toilets, and related facilities.
- Monitor mechanical and facility equipment such as pumps, air-conditioning and ventilation systems.
- Supervise maintenance staff, technicians, cleaners, gardeners, and other facilities personnel.
- Coordinate external contractors and service providers and monitor the quality of completed works.
- Develop preventive-maintenance schedules and recommend maintenance priorities.
- Monitor health, safety, fire protection, and security conditions across University facilities.
- Coordinate cleaning, landscaping, gardening, waste management, and general grounds maintenance.
- Monitor consumption of electricity, water, fuel, and other utilities and recommend cost-saving measures.
- Participate in preparation and monitoring of estate and maintenance budgets.
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, repairs, contracts, warranties, inspections, and related expenditure.
- Support construction, renovation, refurbishment, and improvement projects.
- Prepare regular reports on facility conditions, maintenance activities, utility consumption, and outstanding issues.
- Perform other estate, facilities, maintenance, or administrative duties assigned by management.
Qualifications & Experience
- Relevant Bachelor's degree/qualification in Estate Management, Property Management, Electrical Engineering, or a related field, as applicable to the position.
- Practical and technical experience in estate, facilities, property, or maintenance management is an added advantage.
- Ability to coordinate contractors and maintenance teams.
- Strong organisational, problem-solving, and communication skills.
