Background
Rwanda Ultimate Golf Course is a private company created to position Rwanda as the best golfing destination in Africa and one of the greatest in the world. The first project of Rwanda Ultimate Golf Course, in order to reach this goal, is the Kigali Golf Resort & Villas. The golf course is a real estate masterpiece designed by the worldwide famous Gary Player. The facility will also include a five-star Clubhouse and other amenities.
Position Summary
The Golf Director provides strategic, operational, and commercial leadership for all golf activities at the club. The Director oversees golf operations, course experience, tournaments, coaching, practice facilities, caddy and cart operations, member engagement, service standards, safety, and revenue growth while maintaining the club's reputation as a premier golf destination.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement the strategic growth plan for golf services.
- Ensure departmental alignment with the club mission, service standards, and brand identity.
- Lead cross-functional teams and foster professionalism and exceptional guest care.
- Prepare annual goals, KPIs, and performance improvement plans.
- Oversee all aspects of golf operations including tee-sheet management, tournament coordination, pace of play, and member services.
- Work closely with the Agronomy team to ensure consistent course quality and maintenance schedules.
- Supervise golf lessons, coaching programs, and corporate golf clinics.
- Ensure smooth operation of the driving range, practice facilities, equipment rentals, caddy operations, and golf cart management.
- Lead planning and execution of club tournaments and social golf events.
- Develop revenue-generating golf packages and programs.
- Drive membership acquisition and retention programs for golf.
- Collaborate with Marketing to promote golf events and tournaments.
- Monitor budgets, financial performance, cost controls, and monthly revenue targets.
- Maintain high service standards and strong member/guest relationships.
- Enforce SOPs, safety protocols, and regulatory compliance across golf facilities.
- Lead recruitment, onboarding, training, and performance management for golf staff.
- Develop budgets, oversee procurement, monitor inventory, and prepare performance reports.
Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
- Revenue performance across golf division.
- Golf course condition ratings and clubhouse service quality.
- Membership growth and retention.
- Health & safety compliance scores.
- Customer satisfaction and feedback.
- Staff productivity, training completion, and turnover.
- Successful execution of tournaments and golf events.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Sports Management, Hospitality, Business Management, or related field.
- Golf management certification is highly desirable.
- Minimum 7–10 years of experience in golf management, club management, or hospitality leadership.
- Proven success in revenue growth, customer service, and team leadership.
- Experience within a premium golf club, resort, or club environment is a strong asset.

- Deep understanding of golf operations and trends.
- Ability to work under pressure, multitask, and manage large teams.
