Job responsibilities

• Install, maintain, service, and repair HVAC systems and equipment.
• Inspect air-conditioning, ventilation, heating, refrigeration, and cooling systems for proper operation.
• Diagnose electrical, mechanical, and refrigeration-related faults.
• Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on HVAC equipment.
• Clean, replace, and repair filters, coils, fans, belts, motors, compressors, thermostats, and other components.
• Check and adjust refrigerant levels and identify refrigerant leaks.
• Test electrical circuits, controls, motors, and other HVAC components.
• Read and interpret technical drawings, equipment manuals, and wiring diagrams.
• Ensure HVAC systems provide appropriate temperature, humidity, and air quality.
• Respond to equipment breakdowns and emergency maintenance requests.
• Maintain accurate records of inspections, maintenance, repairs, and replacement parts.
• Follow occupational health, safety, environmental, and refrigerant-handling requirements.
• Recommend equipment repairs, upgrades, or replacement when necessary.
• Work with other technicians, electricians, plumbers, contractors, and facility-management teams.
• Provide guidance to customers or building occupants on the proper operation of HVAC equipment.
• Keep tools, equipment, and work areas clean and safe.
