As the organization continues to transition into full-scale operations and expand its impact, GAH Ltd is seeking a dynamic, innovative, and forward-thinking HR Specialist to support the development of a high-performing, professional, and people-centered institution.
About the position
The Human Resources Specialist will play a key role in supporting the growth and institutional development of GAH Ltd by strengthening human resource systems, promoting a positive organizational culture, and driving effective talent management practices within a dynamic and fast-evolving environment.
The successful candidate will support the organization in attracting, developing, and retaining high-performing talent while ensuring that HR policies, processes, and practices align with the company’s strategic objectives and operational needs.
This position is ideal for a proactive, adaptable, and solutions-oriented HR professional who thrives in fast-paced and performance-driven environments and is passionate about people development, organizational effectiveness, and building sustainable systems that support long-term institutional growth.
Responsibilities or duties
1. Talent acquisition & Workforce planning
- Lead end-to-end recruitment processes, including job postings, screening, interviewing, and onboarding.
- Design and implement innovative strategies to attract and retain high-quality talent.
- Collaborate with department heads to anticipate staffing needs and build a strong talent pipeline.
2. Employee relations & Culture development
- Serve as a link between management and employees, fostering a positive and productive work environment.
- Address employee concerns, manage grievances, and support conflict resolution.
- Champion a strong organizational culture anchored in accountability, collaboration, and performance.
3. Performance management
- Develop, implement, and continuously improve performance management systems.
- Support managers in setting KPIs, conducting performance appraisals, and managing underperformance.
- Promote a results-driven culture through continuous feedback and employee engagement.
4. Learning & development
- Identify training needs and organize professional development programs.
- Support career development initiatives and succession planning.
- Encourage continuous learning aligned with organizational goals.
5. HR policies, compliance & administration
- Develop, review, and implement HR policies and procedures in line with Rwanda labor laws and best practices.
- Ensure compliance with statutory and regulatory requirements.
- Maintain accurate HR records and documentation.
6. Compensation & benefits
- Support the administration of employee compensation and benefits programs.
- Ensure competitiveness, fairness, and alignment with organizational objectives.
7. HR analytics & Strategic support
- Track, analyze, and report on HR metrics to inform decision-making.
- Provide insights on workforce trends, retention, and performance.
- Support leadership in aligning HR strategies with broader organizational goals.
Qualifications or requirements (e.g., education, skills)
Qualifications and experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Minimum of five (5) years of progressive HR experience in a startup or fast-paced private sector environment.
- Proven experience in recruitment, employee relations, and performance management.
- Demonstrated ability to build organizational culture and implement HR systems.
Key competencies
- Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills.
- Excellent communication and conflict resolution abilities.
- High level of adaptability and problem-solving capability.
- Strong understanding of Rwanda labor laws and HR best practices.
- Analytical mindset with ability to interpret HR data and metrics.
- Ability to operate both strategically and hands-on in a dynamic environment.
