Background

This role is within the Rwanda Agriculture and Animal Resources Development Board (RAB).

Job Responsibilities

  • Conduct water quality analysis, including pH, ammonia, dissolved oxygen, and nitrate levels.
  • Perform microbiological and parasitological tests to diagnose fish diseases.
  • Analyze fish samples to assess health status and nutritional deficiencies.
  • Maintain and calibrate laboratory equipment for accurate results.
  • Document test results and prepare reports for hatchery and farm management.
  • Assist in the development of fish health management protocols.
  • Ensure compliance with biosecurity and laboratory safety regulations.
  • Provide technical support to hatchery and farm staff regarding fish health.
  • Conduct research on disease prevention, nutrition, and water treatment techniques.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Animal Sciences with 3 Years of relevant experience
  • Bachelor’s Degree Microbiology with 3 Years of relevant experience
  • Master’s Degree in Microbiology with 2 Years of relevant experience
  • Bachelor of Science in Biotechnology with 3 Years of relevant experience
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Biology with 3 Years of relevant experience
  • Master’s Degree in Animal Sciences with 2 Years of relevant experience
  • Master’s Degree in Biotechnology with 2 Years of relevant experience
  • Master’s Degree in Biology with 2 Years of relevant experience
