 Job Brief:

  • Leads and coordinates the maintenance team to ensure machinery and equipment run safely and efficiently. 
  • Plans and assigns daily maintenance tasks, follows up on work completion, and checks quality. 
  • Monitors preventive maintenance schedules, reports breakdowns, and works with the manager to improve equipment performance. 
  • Ensures safety rules are followed, keeps records updated, and supports training of technicians.

5. Responsibilities:

  • Plan, develop and implement maintenance programs 
  • Assign daily maintenance tasks to technicians.
  • Supervise, coordinate and guide the maintenance team.
  • Monitor preventive maintenance schedules and ensure timely execution.
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical issues in equipment and machinery
  • Respond to machinery and equipment breakdowns and coordinate quick repairs.
  • Check quality of completed work and ensure standards are met.
  • Maintain accurate maintenance records and reports.
  • Ensure all safety procedures are followed.
  • Lead and mentor maintenance team, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and accountability
  • Communicate equipment issues and needs to the Maintenance Manager.
  • Perform any other duties as required by the management.

6. Job Requirements:

  • Having A0 or A1 Degree/Diploma in mechanical engineering, mechanical maintenance or related field.
  • Proven experience of 3 or more years in maintenance work.
  • Strong hands-on technical skills.
  • Valid Rwanda driving license (at least Category B)
  • Ability to supervise, guide, and evaluate teams.
  • Knowledge of maintenance management software (desirable).
  • Good understanding of preventive maintenance and troubleshooting.
  • Strong communication, reporting, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and respond quickly to equipment issues.
  • Commitment to safety practices and workplace discipline.
